AURIGA ENERGY LIMITED
Auriga Energy is a Bristol based enterprise developing hydrogen fuel cell systems since 2007. The Auriga Energy team brings a proven expertise in the design, development, management and delivery of hi-tech products in the space, defence and wind power industries. The world-class experience of the team, across the broad range of skills necessary for these novel and complex systems, ensures successful delivery of reliable systems.
The company has developed the UK’s first fuel cell ferry, which has operated in Bristol Harbourside for hundreds of hours in all environmental conditions from freezing to above 30°C temperatures. The project was conceived and led by Auriga Energy, and the boat was built and operated by a joint company Bristol Hydrogen Boats. Auriga Energy was specifically responsible for the fuel cells, power handling/control, powertrain and hydrogen systems. The CE marked boat has been in service since early 2013.
Auriga Energy has developed innovative hydrogen fuel cell systems for application in a variety of applications including marine transport and UPS/backup power. In parallel with marketing these, the company is completing the next set of products in materials handling and generators.
Auriga Energy will primarily develop its fuel cell system for higher power levels and be tolerant of the salty conditions in the marine environment.
