The company’s globally unique hydrogen dual-fuel approach, mixes hydrogen with diesel in the engine, from on board stored gas tanks, at volumes that displace between 30-70% of the energy from diesel, giving a direct 1kg for 1 gallon CO2 saving. Dual fuel addresses concerns from the risk of hydrogen availability, range anxiety, and excessive loss of payload; and by using the existing engine technology the cost of conversion is minimal in comparison to other low emission solutions. Because commercial vehicles are heavy duty, volumes of back to base hydrogen can make hydrogen competitive to diesel. Over 40 vehicles are operating in the UK today in day to day operations, from refuse trucks, to road sweepers and local delivery vans.

The HyLANTIC project gives the company the opportunity to research the wider transport applications  into marine engines and investigate the opportunities to source low carbon hydrogen cost effectively for potential users in local areas
